Always on the lookout for kooky wallpaper, i’ve come across this beautiful wallpaper and matching fabric from Paperboy.

Available in six different colourways green, light grey, dark grey, brown, purple and blue. Bespoke colour matches are also available on larger orders. The fabrics are designed and screen printed in the UK. More info here.

Phoyo

I love this Phoyo playhouse, designed by in New Zealand by Robin Hannah with sustainably grown veneers. As far away from pink plastic tac as you can get! Simple clean lines to encourage imagination and start them appreiciating simple form from a young age. If only we had more space in our garden and I would buy one, oh and the shipping costs from New Zealand are probably pretty hefty but worth it.

French Furniture

Every so often I come across some furniture designed for children that I would be more than happy to have in my own bedroom. This beautiful collection from Laurette is inspired by retro design from the 40′s and 50′s. The colours are so subtle and understated that would suit both little boys and girls rooms. Highlights from the collection for me include the “Le Chevet des Secrets”, “Le bureau L65″ and all the beds! Via Ohdeedoh.

Moomah

Following my last post i’ve come across this inspiring place in New York called Moomah. Oh how I wish something like this existing in Brighton.

“A place of sweet whimsey, wonder and warmth, moomah is a creative playscape, a cozy cafe, a living classroom, a quiet hideaway, an art oasis, your neighborhood meeting spot. Your favorite place to be together, and a place for your child simply to be.”

Wow this place sounds idyllic! They “wanted the space to be inviting and to nurture creative stimulation not over-stimulation.” Not only am I inspired by their ethos but the interiors are stunning too. Great site and lovely branding, ooo la la I love it!

Baby Cafe

Enjoying a cuppa and entertaining a toddler don’t mix! I’ve tried many a time, in a park on the grass, a cafe by the swings, a large cafe with toys but unfortunately my little boy doesn’t have a penchant for a cup of the old earl and slice of cake like his mother and he’s not afraid of making his feelings clear. I’ve often though how nice it would be if a place existed that managed to mix an indoor play area with tasteful cafe and yummy refreshments and believe it or not they do, not in the UK but hopefully its a trend we can see coming this way.

Firstly there’s the stunning looking http://www.familylifehome.com.au in Melbourne, Australia. Which sounds everso much fun and looks great too, however I would be a little worried about my 1 year old gnawing on the wooden sofas. And then there’s the ultimate – The Tokyo Baby Cafe! Fully stocked with kids books and toys, the cafe includes a play room, private rooms and separate spaces for feeding and changing. Its got wide aisles to accommodate pushchairs and the light switches and door handles are placed safely out of reach of children. (via http://www.handmadecharlotte.com)

Welcome to the new blog!

Welcome to the brand new Babybird blog. This is going to be a collection of really nice children and baby products, the most beautiful craft, art and design I can find. Hopefully someone other than me will be looking at this, if not its a good place to keep the nice things I find online :)
